WELCOME

Hello I’m Viv Compton and I set-up Industry Learning Solutions Limited in 2017 to help businesses build resilience and improve productivity through people, systems and technology.

I use my extensive business experience creating tailored company training and apprenticeship solutions and my passion for the manufacturing and engineering sectors, to help busy Department Leads achieve sustained local productivity growth to hit their monthly targets by strategic investment in people development, process improvement and technology that drives efficiency.

I get your workforce more skilled, show you how to use funded apprenticeships as a business growth tool and demonstrate which productivity improvement tools and systems can be used to create impact and drive fast-lane, sustainable operational excellence to make a return on investment.

The company is based in Wales, UK, supporting a range of sectors focusing primarily on the supply chain industries of Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, Construction, Nuclear and Energy.

Creating impact and building resilience

I recognised it was difficult for busy business owners and managers to find independent advice and guidance on business growth strategies around people, systems and technology that covered apprenticeships, technical skills, funding support, operational excellence and Industry 4.0 digitalisation. 

My services have evolved in response to the needs of companies who need reliable and trustworthy support that is agile, creates impact, builds resilience and helps maintain a competitive edge in in an ever changing world.

I can help you because I have worked in the industrial training sector for 25 years, am masters’ degree qualified in Leadership & Management and I understand the challenges you face when it comes to:

  • how to introduce Lean systems and technology to improve productivity

I came to do this work because when I was tasked with turning around an education business and charity in 2006. I quickly realised that even with the best marketing team in Europe, unless the quality was right and the customer was happy, then the rest was superficial. I had to embed quality feedback systems at every level of the organisation and act on the feedback. This then drove efficiency improvements linked to the overall business plan. Every member of staff knew the vision, the objectives and that a quality/ customer-first ethos was the priority. This approach made a significant impact on the business. Later in my career, I was introduced to the phenomenal success stories of Lean Six Sigma master practitioners and realised immediately the parallels to quality control and getting it ‘Right First Time. My aim was to make this type of training, and the proven systems linked to continuous improvement and embedding world-class skills, available locally.

Today, I use the skills and experience I've honed to support managers in a wide range of industries to focus on efficiency, growth and improvement.
